Good Advice. I always like to wait until close to the IRS deadline for filing anyway. This is just another justification for doing that. Thanks Mark.

why put a ceiling if you're just gonna raise it? it's like having an arbitrary cap on your spending. it's like giving your wife a credit card with a max limit and then when your wife calls you she needs more for her shopping, you call the bank and ask that the limit on the credit card be removed. As Parkinson's 2nd law states, "expenditures rise to meet income". In this case, a higher debt ceiling will just mean more government borrowing.

1. A financial audit of the U.S. government should be done to determine the truth.
2. Do not raise the cap; pay down the debt.
3. Establish a standard other than the dollar, a standard that has some intrinsic value.
4. When some perception of stability begins to form, audit all federal agencies with an eye
to defunding all federal agencies which are not constitutionally and fiscally viable.

I am a whistleblower and everything I reported was documented , licenses were lost , business shut down . etc. etc.
I received threats and attempts on my life on top of losing my job , career , savings , home , health and family .
Years later I am still struggling with basic survival needs and need help .
It's either a reward substantial enough to invest for future needs or a fund should be established to help those who are punished for committing the truth .

And don't look to the courts to resolve the issues for a whistleblower !
I hit judicial misconduct and never got my damages which were a joke anyway .
Once you are labelled a whistleblower- noone wants to interview you let alone hire you .
Expect to become unhirable & to have to do demeaning work that will no longer support your family .

So yes - there should be some financial light at the end of the tunnel for those who have the courage to come forward .
No-one should have to go through what I did and years later still suffer as a result of doing the right thing .

I never thought we’d be penalized for taking good care of ourselves . . .But, here we are subsidizing the healthcare of those who did not.

I believe that until our leadership in Washington, D.C. starts to take measures that will create jobs rather than permitting millions of jobs to be sent abroad, the problem will only get worse. The U.S. needs to get back what has been lost of its manufacturing base. Those kind of jobs have historically been essential to working middle class Americans. A huge part of our economic base has been sacrificed for the sake of corporate porfit taking. America is...and has been for too long...focused more on world affairs than what really matters; taking care of America.

I agree VKR. People should do the right thing just because it's the right thing to do. Although I know that many whistleblowers are often later fired, not promoted, or black-listed from their industry and have to change careers. I guess that monetary reward could be viewed as compensation for the backlash they might receive.

I don't think that a monetary "reward" should be a part of this legislation. If an employee is truly concerned about unethical behavior in his or her company, then that person would, I believe, report it regardless of any "gain" that he or she might receive.

The first increase for 85K-107K might be a little out of line, but couples with income above 200K should not mind paying a little more and as it progresses those people are certainly able to pay more. Most people including yours truly are concerned about the deficit but no one is willing to pay more to reduce it. Granted, governmental spending is out of control and should be reined in and better controlled but at some point in time we are going to have to pay enough to support the programs everyone expects from the government.
